Microcurrent Macular Degeneration: A New Treatment With Promise!

Macular degeneration is an eye disorder that can eventually cause blindness and usually occurs in elderly people. Up until now there really hasn’t been anything that can truly slow down the progression of the condition, but now there is a microcurrent macular degeneration treatment that shows a lot of promise.

Micro current stimulation therapy is non surgical, so it is a safe procedure and this therapy stimulates the nerve fibers, and the macula with a low intensity current.  The therapy has been FDA approved, so it does not damage the eye and the device is approved by the FDA. The current is given using different frequencies and is applied when the eye is closed. There is no pain or discomfort that is felt and the patient needs to do the treatment twice a day for the microcurrent macular degeneration treatment to work.

The macular cells have an electrical charge, just as every cell in our body does. But they sometimes have very low energy and cannot hold that energy. This microcurrent macular degeneration treatment gives these cells the energy they need. It is sort of like charging a car battery. This type of therapy also increases the blood flow and creates more amino acid and nutrients in the cells.

Early studies of the microcurrent macular degeneration treatment have shown that it can improve visual sharpness, and color perception in more than 60% of patients who suffer from dry macular degeneration.

Other studies where individuals who were diagnosed with untreatable eye diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and others who underwent microcurrent macular degeneration treatment and vitamin supplementation had positive results in 60% of the treatment participants.

The Procedure

It is a fairly simple procedure. The electrical current wakes up the cells and makes them start healing themselves. The procedure also helps the cells get rid of waste matter .  So in essence the microcurent treatment stimulates the cell and gets it to regenerate again, where it had become very sluggish.

The treatment is administered twice a day for about 6 minutes each procedure. When treatment is stopped then vision begins to deteriorate again.

How Safe is MCS Therapy?

As of yet, there have been no side effects or adverse reactions to the microcurrent macular degeneration treatment. The therapy can be done at home or in the doctors office, but continued treatment at home is usually necessary to continue to have the improvement.
